COLUMBUS, OH – Basketball analyst and former Indiana Pacers forward, Clark Kellogg, was the keynote speaker at the annual St. Francis DeSales High School Senior Spirit Day gathering on Wednesday, August 10, 2016. According to the This Week Community News article Kellogg is a former Ohio State University basketball standout and Cleveland native whose three children all attended St. Francis DeSales:
“Kellogg, a resident of Westerville, is a former Ohio State University basketball standout who has been a game and studio analyst for more than 20 years. His three children all attended St. Francis DeSales. … Luke Happler, a member of the Stallions basketball team, introduced Kellogg, telling the others how the Cleveland native was the 1982 Big Ten Most Valuable Player who would go on several years later to join the OSU board of trustees.”
During the gathering a 2010 video was played of him playing basketball with President Barack Obama whereupon Kellogg jokingly asked that the video of him playing basketball with the President be stopped.
Kellogg spoke to the students about lessons he learned over the years about leadership as an athlete, as a father as well as a husband and as a communicator.
Clark Kellogg is a former player for the NBA and was the first round draft pick of the Indiana Pacers. Kellogg played for the Pacers from 1982 to 1986 but only played three full seasons, and parts of two other seasons before chronic knee problems forced him to retire. Kellogg is currently the lead college basketball analyst for CBS Sports as well as television analyst for the Indiana Pacers plus he is also the VP of player relations for the Indiana Pacers. In 1990, he joined ESPN as a basketball analyst and he also worked for the Big East Network and Prime Sports.
