Bobby Bowden Named Featured Speaker at Event Sponsored by Ole Miss Chapter of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes

OXFORD, Miss. – Bobby Bowden, former head football coach of the Florida State University Seminoles (FSU), will be a featured speaker at the University of Mississippi campus for a breakfast to be held on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014. The breakfast is being sponsored by the Ole Miss chapter of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

Bowden, along with Ole Miss head coach, Hugh Freeze, will be the featured speakers for the event, and all proceeds will go directly to support the Ole Miss FCA chapter. The breakfast will be held at the Manning Center (formerly known as the Indoor Practice Facility) from 8:30-10:15 a.m. Visit www.olemissfca.org for tickets.

Ole Miss FCA campus director Todd Johnson told the press, “I see the upcoming FCA Breakfast as a great opportunity to be encouraged by two outstanding men and coaches who not only have a faith in God, but try to live out their faith daily to impact those around them for good. It will hopefully be a great way to start the day before we play Florida in basketball on national TV and then have a baseball game that afternoon. We believe this FCA Breakfast could become an annual event and be significant in helping fund our campus ministry.”

Bobby Bowden is the former head college football coach of the Florida State University Seminoles. Since taking the position in 1976, Bowden has led FSU to an Associated Press and Coaches Poll National Title in 1993 and a BCS National Championship National Title in 1999, as well as twelve Atlantic Coast Conference championships since FSU joined the conference in 1991.
