PANAMA CITY, Fla. — Former Florida State head football coach, Bobby Bowden, and his son former Clemson head football coach, Tommy Bowden, were guest speakers on Tuesday, Dec. 10, at the Fellowship of Christian Athletes fundraiser held at Gulf Coast State College in Panama City, Florida. The event was a sell out Tuesday Night with all the proceeds going to The Fellowship of Christian Athletes in Bay and surrounding counties.

Both father and son answered questions about their Christian faith, the importance of mentoring and what it was like to play each other on the field. Both Bowdens said, they always took their responsibility as Christian coaches seriously, because so many young football players come from broken homes. Although he took Florida State to the National Championship, Bobby Bowden says there is one thing he still wishes he could have done.
“When I was at Florida state we went to every major bowl except the Rose Bowl,” Bowden said, “Of course I would have loved to play in the Rose Bowl so anyway I am glad that they finally made it. … it is going to be a heck of a ball game. I was very impressed with Auburn the other night … so Florida State is going to have their hands full”
