McDONOUGH, GA. — Former Florida State head football coach, Bobby Bowden, was the featured speaker on Saturday, March 29, at the Creekside Christian Academy black-tie fundraiser. The purpose of the fundraiser was to raise money for the school’s further expansion. The event began at 6:30 p.m. with a meet-and-greet session, followed by a dinner, an inspirational speech and a book signing by Bowden.

“Bobby is a Christian guy, and we wanted someone to speak to us who shares our same philosophies,” Boys basketball coach Burton Uwarow said. “Hopefully with the name of FSU, and them winning the national championship this year, it will bring even more excitement to what we’re trying to do.”
Creekside Christian Academy began in the 1970s as a school in Morrow. It moved from Clayton to Henry County in 2007, and now operates in Pinecrest Baptist Church. Since moving to Henry County, the school has grown from roughly 150 students to almost 700.
