Charlie Ward Named Keynote Speaker at Orange Bowl FCA Prayer Breakfast

This year’s Orange Bowl, sponsored by the Baptist Health South Florida Fellowship of Christian Athletes, featured Charlie Ward as this year’s keynote speaker which honors student-athletes, coaches and communities that are committed to making a difference in young people’s lives was held at its 45th annual Orange Bowl Prayer Breakfast. The prayer breakfast took place on Tuesday, Dec. 29, at Jungle Island, 1111 Parrot Jungle Trail.

Players and coaches from Oklahoma and Clemson, the teams playing in this year’s Capital One Orange Bowl game, are scheduled to attend. The event was open to the public. Tickets for the Baptist Health Orange Bowl Prayer Breakfast were $30 each and sponsorship for tables of 10 started at $500. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. The event also will feature raffles for exclusive travel and leisure prizes. Source: Community Newspapers.com.

Charlie Ward is a former NBA basketball player, college football Heisman Trophy winner, Davey O’Brien Award winner and a Major League Baseball draftee. He is considered one of the best all-around athletes in the last quarter century. He was inducted in the College Football Hall of Fame with Emmitt Smith and Bobby Bowden in 2006.
