BIRMINGHAM, AL. — Samford University welcomes Amy Grant and Art Garfunkel among several artists headed to Birmingham in the coming year for Samford University’s Signature Series. Tickets are on sale now for the series, which includes dance, Celtic music and more, in addition to the pop stars. All shows, except for the season opener, are at Samford’s Wright Concert Hall. Here’s a look at what Samford has on tap for the 2015-2016 Signature Series:

Heart Behind the Music (Aug. 27, 7 p.m., Brock Recital Hall). A songwriters’ showcase featuring Linda Davis, T. Graham Brown, Richie McDonald and Larry Stewart. Tickets: $35 adults/$15 students/free to Samford students and faculty.

Raisin’ Cane: A Harlem Renaissance Odyssey (Sept. 18, 7 p.m.). Actress Jasmine Guy and the Avery Sharpe Trio celebrate the Harlem renaissance through text, song, music, movement and imagery. Tickets: $25 and up/ $15 for students/free to Samford students and faculty.

Vienna Boys Choir (Oct. 20, 7 p.m.). The acclaimed choir brings its eclectic repertoire to Birmingham. Tickets: $25 and up/ $15 for students/free to Samford students and faculty.

Christmas with Amy Grant (Dec. 4, 8 p.m.). The pop and Christian music Grammy-winner performs holiday favorites with the Alabama Symphony Orchestra. Tickets: $27.50 and up/ $15 for students.

Art Garfunkel (Jan. 26, 2016; 7 p.m.). The Grammy Award winner and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer sings his solo hits, plus songs from Simon and Garfunkel and other songwriters. Tickets: $50 and up.

Jessica Lang Dance (Jan. 30, 2016; 8 p.m.). A New York-based dance company performing the work of Jessica Lang. Tickets: $25 adults/ $15 for students/free to Samford students and faculty.

Celtic Nights: Spirit of Freedom (April 2, 2016; 7 p.m.). A new production of Irish singing, dancing, acting and music celebrating 100 years of Irish independence. Tickets: $25 and up/ $15 for students/free to Samford students and faculty.

Wake Me Lord! Shake Me Lord!: A Tribute to Hovie Lister and the Statesmen Quartet (April 8, 2016 at 7 p.m.; April 9 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.). A tribute to the group referred to as the “perfect quartet.”

Best known for performing Christian music, Amy Grant has been referred to as “The Queen of Christian Pop.” She has won six Grammy Awards, 25 Gospel Music Association Dove Awards, and had the first Christian album ever to go Platinum. Heart in Motion is her highest-selling album, with over five million copies sold in the United States alone. She was honored with a star on Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2005 for her contributions to the entertainment industry. Her next album, titled How Mercy Looks from Here, was released on May 14, 2013.
