BAINBRIDGE, GA. — David Ross, 2013 Boston Red Sox World Series Champion and former catcher for the Atlanta Braves, will be the guest speaker on Wednesday, January 22, at Grace Christian Academy in Bainbridge, Georgia. Ross, a Bainbridge native, will talk about baseball, faith and family. The event, which takes place in the school’s gymnasium, will feature games and activities starting at 6:30 p.m., followed by Ross speaking at 7 p.m.

“He’s a former Brave, so there’s a lot of local interest in him,” GCA pastor John Woodrum said. “It’s pretty exciting to have him come speak.” Woodrum was excited for kids to spend time with Ross. The World Series champ is known to talk to kids about the importance of honoring their parents & building a relationship with Jesus.

Ross is the current catcher with the Boston Red Sox. He was drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers, and has played for six different Major League teams including the Atlanta Braves.
