Former NFL Center Jeff Saturday Was Featured Speaker at Elkhart, IN Prayer Breakfast

According to The Goshen News article Vince Turner, Vice President and Regional Manager from Mutual Bank, described Jeff Saturday as “A modern day Barnabas” who was the guy who looked out for Peyton Manning on the football field:

“‘Barnabas was an encourager,’ Turner said. ‘He was one of the guys behind the scenes that made things happen. Barnabas was the guy behind Paul and Jeff was the guy behind Peyton.’ … ‘When Peyton was looking to throw passes to Reggie Wayne, Marvin Harrison or Dallas Clark, Jeff was the guy calling out the protection schemes so Peyton had time to complete his throws.'”

Saturday spoke about his achievements in football and about the award he was most proud of:

“‘Of all the awards in pro football the one I am most proud of the is that Peyton and I hold the record for the most wins by a center-quarterback combination,’ he said.”

Jeff Saturday is a former NFL center who played for the Indianapolis Colts and the Green Bay Packers. He played college football for the University of North Carolina, and was signed by the Baltimore Ravens as an undrafted free agent in 1998 but was cut by the team without playing a game. Saturday played 13 seasons for the Colts, where he won a Super Bowl ring and was selected to four All-Pro teams and five Pro Bowls. He made his sixth and last Pro Bowl as a member of the Packers.
