Former Seahawks Shaun Alexander Named Guest Speaker at Pensacola Sports Association Awards Banquet

PENSACOLA, FL. — Former Seattle Seahawks running back, Shaun Alexander, was the guest speaker on Weds. March 18 at the 61st annual Pensacola Sports Association Awards banquet. The banquet honored 2014 athletic achievements from team, coaches, athletes and those connected with Pensacola area sports. During his speeches, Alexander stresses the importance to fathers to be involved in their family. As a father of seven Alexander said, “I think over 2 million families will go to bed without their father now. There are so many powerful things that can happen to a kid with just a dad being around. I just want to encourage dads.”

Shaun Alexander is a former NFL running back who played for the Seattle Seahawks from 2000-07 and the Washington Redskins in 2008. He was a three-time Pro Bowl selection and was also named AP NFL Offensive Player of the Year in 2005. A born-again Christian, Alexander and his wife are very outspoken about their faith and are regular attendees at Christian Faith Center, a charismatic megachurch in Federal Way.
