According to the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal article Naomi Judd is a former nurse and that she spoke about nursing and how it is one of the most respected professions:
“Becoming a nurse is one of the most respected professions,” she said. “You have all these opportunities, and nursing is getting so modernized now I can’t keep up. If you decide to become a nurse, the world literally is your oyster. You can do what I did, which was ICU.”
The article also mentioned how Judd became infected with hepatitis C from a used needle while working as a nurse:
“Judd was a registered nurse for the intensive care unit at a hospital in Tennessee for several years. During her time as a nurse, she was infected with hepatitis C from a used needle and was told she had only three years to live.”
