Jim Tressel to Appear at Berea High School Alumni Golf Benefit


BEREA, OH. — Former Ohio State head football coach and current Youngstown State University President, Jim Tressel, will host a meet and greet with golfers during the Berea High School Alumni Association’s annual golf benefit on July 10 at Coppertop at Cherokee Hills in Valley City. Tressel, a 1971 graduate of Berea High, will meet with golfers and pose for photos to help support the association’s scholarship fund. Source: cleveland.com.

The event will be a four-person scramble with a 9 a.m. shotgun start. Registration will begin at 8 a.m. There will be a putting contest and team photos before the tournament begins. A cash beverage cart will be available on the course during the day. The $100 fee per golfer includes green fees and a cart, GPS tournament scoring, lunch and dinner, door prizes and a raffle, skill events and plaques for the winners. Golfers should register by July 6. Registration forms are on the alumni association’s web site, www.berea.k12.oh.us/bhsalumni.

Jim Tressel is an educator and former American football college coach. He served as head coach at Youngstown State University from 1986 to 2000 and at Ohio State from 2001 to 2011.
