MLB Legend Darryl Strawberry was the Keynote Speaker at Southwest Florida FCA Banquet

NAPLES, FL – MLB Legend Darryl Strawberry was the keynote speaker at the 9th Annual Southwest Florida Fellowship of Christian Athletes banquet on Thursday, April 7, 2016. The event was held at the Naples Beach Hotel and Golf Club at 851 Gulf Shore Blvd., in Naples, Florida between 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Source: Naples Herald

According to the Naples Herald article Straberry didn’t speak so much about his baseball career, rather he spoke about how he recovered after hitting rock bottom:

“I think America has gotten away from that [teaching Biblical principles] and so many young people are losing their life to the streets and the wrong decisions, because we don’t teach them what’s important. And that’s what it was for me”

Strawberry’s keynote speech related to how he wasn’t taught the word of God, and how he got “lost out there in the lifestyle of fame and being rich.”
