Seahawks QB Russell Wilson and Singer Ciara Appear Together at White House State Dinner Honoring Japan’s Prime Minister

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Seattle Seahawks Quarterback Russell Wilson and singer Ciara, or “Ciara Harris” as she was listed on the invite list, were guests at Tuesday night’s White House State Dinner honoring Japan’s Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. Pop star Ciara Harris accompanied Wilson wearing a sleek champagne gown. Rumored to be a couple, it’s one of the first public appearances for Wilson and Ciara. The two were reportedly seen at a recent Mariners game.

Wilson is the current NFL starting quarterback for the Seattle Seahawks. He is a devout Christian, and often refers to his faith in press conferences and interviews. He also posts daily Bible verses on his Twitter feed. Wilson is an active volunteer in the Seattle community. During the NFL season, he makes weekly visits on his days off to the Seattle Children’s Hospital, and has also visited with soldiers at Joint Base Lewis-McChord. In the off season, Wilson hosts the Russell Wilson Passing Academy, a youth football camp, in several cities. In 2012, proceeds from the camp went to the Charles Ray III Diabetes Assn., for which Wilson is the National Ambassador.

Ciara is an American pop singer, songwriter, record producer, dancer, actress and fashion model. Born in Austin, Texas, she traveled around the world during her childhood, eventually moving to Atlanta, Georgia where she joined the girl group Hearsay; however, the group disbanded after having differences. At this time Ciara was noticed for her songwriting. In 2002, she met producer Jazze Pha and signed a record deal with LaFace Records.
