Three-Time World Series Champ Bobby Richardson Named as Keynote Speaker at Duke University Banquet – Feb 4

DURHAM, NC – Former New York Yankee second baseman and three-time World Series champion Bobby Richardson will be the keynote speaker at Duke University’s 5th Annual First Pitch Banquet to be held on Saturday February 4, 2017. According to the Duke Athletics article, head coach Chris Pollard was thrilled to welcome Bobby Richardson as keynote speaker and has had the opportunity to hear him speak on a number of occasions:

“I have had the privilege of hearing Bobby speak on a number of different occasions; he always delivers a fantastic talk. I am excited to hear his message to our 2017 squad. It’s going to be a really fun night and a great way to kick off the 2017 campaign.”

Bobby Richardson is a former MLB second baseman who played for the New York Yankees from 1955 to 1966. Richardson was an eight-time All Star for 1957, 1959 and 1962 through 1966, a five-time Gold Glove Award winner for 1961 through 1965 as well as a three-time World Series champion for 1958, 1961 and 1962. Richardson was also named World Series MVP in 1960 hitting .367 with 12 RBI plus he set a World Series record in the 1964 World Series with 13 hits. Richardson is a born-again Christian who is a national leader in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) as well as a popular Christian speaker.
