Former Florida State football coach, Bobby Bowden, spoke to the group on Monday afternoon, April 13, before a golf scramble at the Houston Lake Country Club. Former Atlanta Braves first baseman, Sid Bream, spoke at the FCA’s banquet Tuesday night, April 14, which began at 5:30 pm at the Museum of Aviation in Warner Robins.

Bowden, 85, spoke with 13WMAZ’s Marvin James about the impact central Georgia athletes had on his coaching career. “[Warner Robins football standout] Ron Simmons was probably the biggest signee I ever made,” Bowden said. “Florida State at the time had never won any dadgum games, and he was the highest recruit in the country at that time. We were very fortunate to get him to come to FSU.”
Bobby Bowden is the former head college football coach of the Florida State University Seminoles. An engaging motivational speaker, Bowden is constantly in demand and most of his free evenings will find him on the speaking circuit. His off-season travel schedule would exhaust anyone. He is a devout Christian and on most Sunday mornings you will usually find him speaking at the pulpit of a church somewhere in the south.

Sid Bream is a former MLB first baseman who played for the Pittsburgh Pirates & Atlanta Braves. He played in 2 World Series, while playing with the Braves. He is a devout Christian and speaks openly about his faith.
