Jim Tressel Booking Agent Details

Jim Tressel served as head football coach at Ohio State for 10 seasons from 2001-2010. After taking over for John Cooper as the 22nd head coach of the storied program. Tressel led the Buckeyes to six Big Ten championships and three berths in the BCS National Championship game, winning a national title in 2002 with a perfect 14-0 mark. For his coaching efforts that season, Tressel received numerous accolades, including the Paul “Bear” Bryant Award, Eddie Robinson Coach of the Year Award and Bobby Dodd Coach of the Year Award. During his time at the helm in Columbus, Tressel compiled an overall record of 94-22 (.810), including an 8-1 mark against the University of Michigan and becoming just the second Buckeyes coach (joining Urban Meyer) to win seven straight against the Maze and Blue. He was inducted into the Ohio State Athletics Hall of Fame in 2015 and became a member of the College Football Hall of Fame that same year.

Prior to being named head coach at Ohio State, Tressel led Youngstown State from 1986-2000 and won four NCAA Division I-AA national titles in 1991, 1993, 1994 and 1997. He was four times named Coach of the Year in Division I-AA and his overall record during his 15 seasons in Youngstown was 135-57-2. He was inducted into the Youngstown State Athletics Hall of Fame in 2013. Tressell got his start in coaching when he was hired by Akron as a graduate assistant in 1975. He went on to serve as an assistant at Miami (OH), Syracuse and Ohio State before earning his first head coaching job. After leaving the coaching world, Tressel was hired by Akron in 2011 as the Vice President of Strategic Engagement. On May 9, 2014, Tressel was named President of Youngstown State. Tressel was born on December 5, 1952 in Mentor, OH and attended Baldwin-Wallace College, where he played quarterback for his father and head coach Lee Tressel, and as a senior was named all-conference. Tressel has authored a couple of books, including the New York Times bestseller “The Winner Manual: For The Game Of Life”, and “Life Promises For Success: Promises From God For Achieving Your Best”.
